Nhan Dan - A new set of postage stamps on the theme of ‘Heroic Vietnamese Mothers’ has been issued jointly by the Ministry of Information and Communication and the Quang Nam provincial People's Committee to mark the 65th War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27).
The stamps aim to show gratitude to patriotic heroes, martyrs and national contributors.
The stamp set, each unit measuring 32 x 43mm, features images of the many heroic Vietnamese mothers whose children sacrificed their lives for the country's independence, based on the work of sculptor Dinh Gia Thang and painter Nguyen Du.
The VND2000 denomination stamps will be available at 15,000 Vietnam Post post offices and in 200 member countries of the Universal Postal Union (UPU).
On the occasion, Quang Nam province also published a ten-postcard set on the same theme, which features images of heroic Vietnamese mothers in Quang Nam and Da Nang provinces by photographers Tran Hong and Dang Ai Viet.
