Southern localities affected by tropical storm Pakhar have been taking drastic measures to overcome the aftermath of the storm and help residents return to their normal lives.
The HCM City People’s Committee has instructed authorities to calculate the damage caused by the storm in terms of human and material loss, and restore the traffic on streets and reconnect those who have been cut off from electricity.
The HCM City Park and Green Tree Company has mobilized more than 400 workers to clean streets and remove trees uprooted by the storm.
Power companies have fixed 72 out of 85 electricity lines that were damaged at the height of the storm.
Heavy rains accompanied by strong wind destroyed 13 houses and damaged more than 260 in the city when Pakhar swept through the city on April 1.
Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, and Bac Lieu provinces have mobilized relevant agencies to help local people deal with the aftermath of the storm.
