German DJ Babetta Treso at Hanoi Sound Stuff 2010.
This year’s festival has attracted 24 international experimental artists from seven countries including Silvouplay from France, Coma and Timeart Ensemble from Germany, Space 360 and Horn from Thailand, and Raysoo from Malaysia. The festival will also introduce several young talented Vietnamese artists such as Ha Okio, Luong Hue Trinh, DJ Tuan Kruise and Tri Minh.
'The 4th Hanoi Sound Stuff Festival is a good opportunity to showcase experimental music and arts to young people in Vietnam as well as to broaden collaboration between Vietnamese and international artists', said Tri Minh, the event organiser.
Following the success of the three previous festivals in 2008, 2009 and 2010, this year’s event will continue to promote electronic and experimental music in combination with visual and installation arts, he added.
Earlier, the festival was heralded by a series of pre-event performances featuring Tri Minh and Luong Hue Trinh at Hanoi Rock City on March 27 and DJ Alex Millan and Trinh Minh Hien at L'Espace, the French cultural centre in Hanoi on April 2.
Founded by experimental artist and DJ Tri Minh, the Hanoi Sound Stuff Festival organised in 2008 was the first electronic artistic exchange music performance ever held in Vietnam.
