This is the fourth consecutive victory of Song Lam Nghe An.
In the first half, both teams played slowly,creating few chances to score.
After the break, Song Lam Nghe An intensified their attacks, producing several chances to score. In the 51st minute, Derron shot over the crossbar.
Then it was Navibank Saigon’s turn to attack. Leandro struck over the crossbar in the 63rd minute. Five minutes later Khanh Lam’s header hit the bar and Truong Giang fired the rebound over the target.
In the last 15 minutes, Song Lam Nghe An brought pressure to bear on the hosts and finally went ahead with Edmund Ansah’s goal. Ansah danced around two defenders and goalkeeper and fired into the net in injury time, sealing a 1-0 victory over Navibank Saigon.
The same day in another early match, Binh Duong were held to a 1-1 draw by defending champions Hanoi T & T at Go Dau stadium.
Hosts Binh Duong took the lead four minutes after the start with Leandro’s strike. He met Vu Phong’s cross and fired it into the far corner.
After the break, Matias headed in to level the score for T & T. But five minutes later, T & T defender Dai Dong was sent off as he got second yellow card.
From this moment, Binh Duong dominated the game but they missed a lot of chances to go ahead.
In the last minute, Vu Phong had the ball in the visitors’ net but was ruled out by the referee as his teammate Huu Thang was offside.
With one point in the match with Binh Duong, T & T moved into sixth place from seventh.
