PANO - Troops from Unit KV1 under Arms Department have helped people in Van Nham and Thanh Son communes, Lang Son Province, have built more than 10 bridges and drainages channels since 1996.
Reports delivered at a conference on July 14th to review the unit’s activities during the past 15 years revealed that the unit had invested over VND 3 billion in upgrading public facilities to improve local people’s living standards.
Besides troops have raised nearly VND 20 million to support poor people and grant scholarships to underprivileged students with good academic records.
The unit has worked out plans to further help local people in boosting socio-economic development while building the unit into a strong one.
Earlier, on July 13th, the unit organised an artistic exchange and presented 33 gifts, totally valued at VND 35 million, to social beneficiaries.
