“Silence” photo wins national portrait contest

The photo, “Silence”, taken by Diep Duc Minh, a reporter from Thanh Nien Newspaper, won a gold medal at a the national artistic photo exhibition and contest.

Launched on September 15th, 2010, the contest, “Portraits of Today’s Vietnamese People”, has received 4,112 photos, including 3,362 colored and 720 black-and-white, from 767 professional and amateur photographers nationwide.

The organising panel, the Vietnam Photographic Artists’ Association, has selected 119 of the best photos for an exhibition, of which, 12 have received awards.

The awarding ceremony and an exhibition will take place on January 24th at the Gallery 54 Trang Tien, Hanoi.
