(VOV) - A seminar on HCM City’s urban planning was held in Paris on October 18.
French scholar Marie Gilbert said that HCM City has developed many major projects including the Thu Thiem Trade Centre and a National Programme on improving urban areas which show its strong determination to turn the city into a modern and civilized hub.
Despite the fact, Ms Gilbert noted, the city allocates only 5 percent of its total land for – too little by comparison with France (30 percent), and the US (over 50 percent).
Ms Gilbert added that HCM city is facing a number of challenges such as rapid growth of population, poor transport system, resettlement and conservation of ancient relics.
