Hanoi Times - According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, seafood exports reached US$ 380 million in September, bringing the total seafood export turnover for the past 9 months to US$ 2.7 billion, up nearly 14 percent from a year earlier.
Normally, export turnover in the final quarter picks up thanks to a higher volume of material and higher consumption around the world. As a result, this year’s export turnover of US$ 3.6 billion is within reach, said Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Luong Le Phuong.
Seafood prices in the world market, especially in the large consumer markets such as the US, the EU, China and the Republic of Korea tend to increase at the end of the year thanks to a higher demand from consumers before and during Christmas and New Year celebrations.
