Sea and Islands propaganda poster contest winners announced

Nhan Dan – An awards ceremony for the propaganda poster contest on Vietnam’s sea and islands, building new rural areas and commemorating the 65th War Invalids and Martyrs' Day was held on July 14 in Dong Ha city in the central province of Quang Tri .

The event was organised jointly by the Grassroots Culture Department under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Quang Tri provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

In the two months since the contest was launched, the organisers received 2,450 entries by 932 participants from 48 cities and provinces across the country.

The 29 best entries received awards, including first prizes for each of the three topics. The sea and islands award went to ‘Every Vietnamese is a Citizen of the Sea’ by Le Anh from Nam Dinh province Hoang Minh Phuong from Nghe An won the award for the best poster on building new rural areas and and ‘Living in Companionship’ by Pham Hung Cuong from Hanoi and Tran Duc Huy from Vinh Phuc took the honours in the category commemorating the 65th War Invalids and Martyrs' Day.

Over 220 posters have been selected to be shown in exhibitions at the Dong Ha City Cultural Centre, Quang Tri provincial Museum and Old Quang Tri Citadel from July 14 to 27.
