HCMC – The Saigon Hi-Tech Park (SHTP) Authority last Friday signed a memorandum of understanding with Graduate School of Comprehensive Human Sciences at Tsukuba University to develop research and training programs on human bio-technology.

Tsukuba University will send lecturers to Vietnam, and together with SHTP issue diplomas to students. Besides, the SHTP Training Center will be in charge of enrolling students, including undergraduates and graduates.

The two sides in this quarter will set up a laboratory equipped with modern facilities provided by Tsukuba University. SHTP will also focus on developing the human bio-technology in the future.

At the signing ceremony, both sides expressed their hope for a long-lasting cooperation to develop research and training programs in this sector.

These activities will be carried out in the first five years to boost cooperation programs to train Vietnamese students into experts in the medicine, life science and biotechnology domains.

Tsukuba University, one of the large educational institutions in Japan, has made huge contributions to science with three Nobel prizes in physics and chemistry in 1965, 1973 and 2000. The university has opened representative offices in many countries, including Vietnam, to boost international cooperation to develop human resources.
