Qualifying rounds for the Robocon Contest 2012 are being held in Hanoi, Danang and Ho Chi Minh City, with the participation of 227 teams from universities and colleges across the country.
Fifty-two teams from 15 southern universities and colleges are competing at the Robocon Contest 2012 at the Rach Mieu Gymnasium in Ho Chi Minh City from April 4-7.
The contest for the central region took place in Danang on April 2, while the northern region kicks off its contest in Hanoi on April 6.
The organizing board will choose 32 outstanding teams for the final round in Ho Chi Minh City from May 7-13. The winners will represent Vietnam at the Asia-Pacific Robot Contest (ABU Robocon) in Hong Kong (China) in late August.
This is the 11th year Robocon has been organized by Vietnam Television (VTV), under the sponsorship of Toyota Vietnam.
Vietnam has won champion titles at ABU Robocons: in Japan (in 2002), the Republic of Korea (in 2004) and Malaysia (in 2006).
