Nhan Dan - The team from the Republic of Korea (RoK) came in first with 12 gold medals and one bronze at the two-day 2012 Hanoi International Judo Tournament, which wrapped up at the Cau Giay Gymnasium in Hanoi on May 20.
Judo artists from five Vietnamese teams and two teams from Hanoi earned the right to compete in the 13 final games in different weight categories at the tournament, but they only managed to secure three gold medals. Vietnam I ranked second with two gold, nine silver and three bronze medals, followed by Hanoi I with one gold, two silvers and one bronze.
The tournament, organised by the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to mark the 122nd anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday, attracted more than 100 martial artists from Vietnam, the RoK, Laos, Indonesia and France.
