A seminar was held in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue on April 27 to discuss the upgrade of the overall planning for Hue city.
The event was co-organised by the provincial People’s Committee and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
The Chief Representative of the KOICA office in Vietnam said that the seminar strengthened Vietnamese officials' capacity for urban planning and development through learning about the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s experiences and promoting cooperation between KOICA, Hue city and Thua Thien-Hue province.
The Vice Chairman of the Hue city People’s Committee, Nguyen Van Thanh, said that KOICA has provided US$3.5 million to upgrade Hue's overall urban planning from now till July 2013.
The project aims to review the city's planning, survey areas targeted for expansion, analyze future development orientations, and adjust the city’s general plan for 2030, with a vision to 2050, in order to promote socio-economic development.
