VietNamNet Bridge – Two Vietnamese fashion designers introduced their impressive collections to their colleagues from many countries at the Hong Kong Fashion Week from January 17-21.

This is a big fashion event in Asia, which attracts fashion designers from Asia, Europe and the Middle East. Designs introduced there will become the trend for Autumn-Winter 2011. This is the second time Vietnam is participating in the event.
Nguyen Thi Diem My, 20, and Ha Nhat Tien, 22, are the winners of the Aquafina Pure Fashion 2010. They brought their winning collections to Hong Kong Fashion Week. The collections were introduced in the first show of the opening day on January 17.
“Vietnam’s designs focus on ideas and creativity, with many daring cuts and curves. This makes the difference. Though it is quite difficult to perform them on the catwalk, I like these designs,” said a Russian model after the show.
This is also the common comment for Ha Nhat Tien’s “Searching the figure of water”. The major material of this collection is plastic, mixed with special materials. The student from HCM City’s Hong Bang University created clothes that, according to him, touch the origin and pureness of water, the essential element for life in this world”.
Nguyen Thi Diem My manually plaited buns of wool to make dresses. Named “Infinity”, My’s collection was inspired by states of water – strong, gentle, smooth, etc. “The moment that makes water sexy and beautiful as flowers is the moment when it whirls without the ending point,” My said.
Tien and My said they were very proud and happy to attend this event. “The show was short but valuable because I had the chance to learn and see new fashion trends of colleagues around the world. Moreover, I was happy to see my designs exhibited on a professional catwalk with special sounds and lights,” Tien said.
