Rex pockets two gold medals at Traditional Cooking Contest 2010 in Hanoi
Two chefs de cuisine of the five-star Rex Hotel, Le Thi Mai and Khau Van Duong, won two gold medals, one silver medal and one bronze medal in the traditional cooking contest organized by the Vietnam National Administration of Vietnam at the Ho Tay Water Park in Hanoi.
Mai took home one gold medal for her Fried Duck with Steamed Glutinous Rice and one bronze medal for her Stewed Beef with Fresh Cashews. Duong won a gold medal for barbecues of three regions and a silver medal for his Grilled Chicken with Cinnamon.
The contest was one of the activities to celebrate the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi and National Tourism Year 2010. The contest attracted the best chefs from 90 hotels and restaurants from all over the country.
The contest aimed to promote Vietnam’s culinary art to the world and created a good opportunity for contestants to exchange cooking skills.
