Phu my Hung's residents sign the petition.
VietNamNet Bridge – Nearly 700 residents of the new Phu My Hung residential area have signed a petition to complain about the Phu My Hung Joint Venture Company to relevant agencies, said the residents’ representative, Nguyen Hong Hai.
Dispute at HCM City’s model residential area
“We have sent our complaint to the President, the Prime Minister, the HCM City People’s Committee and related agencies in HCM City. The HCM City Department of Construction refused to accept the complaint, saying that it didn’t grant any license to Phu My Hung JV Company,” Hai told Dan Tri online newspaper.
In the petition, Phu My Hung’s residents argued that the land use fee must be paid by Phu My Hung JV Company, not the residents. They also asked the Government and the HCM City People’s Committee to inspect Phu My Hung JV Company’s finances. They want the agencies to explain the current law clearly because both the residents and the company base their position on the same legal documents.
The representative of Phu My Hung residents, Nguyen Hong Hai, also criticized the company’s behavior on October 31, when the company closed its office instead of honoring a scheduled meeting with Phu My Hung residents.
Previously, HCM City authorities instructed the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to mediate the case but the case goes beyond the department’s power and so nothing has been accomplished.
