21-year-old Hoang Thi Thach in the northern province of Ha Giang has given birth to a 4.2kg pair of twins who have two hearts but share one sex organ and two kidneys.

The conjoined twin girls were delivered through Caesarean section at the Ha Giang general hospital on the evening of May 6.
The twins were taken to an isolation ward in National Hospital of Pediatrics in Hanoi on May 7 when they underwent a CT scan and other tests.
Dr. Nguyen Thanh Liem, the hospital’s director, has a direct look at the twins’ medical record and said he would hold a consultation with other pediatricians to seek the best treatment for them.
