Protecting seas and islands involves not only naval forces, but also soldiers from air force and air defence. Since the 1980s, radar soldiers have been present on the Spratly Islands, side by side with navy soldiers, to protect the national air and sea.
Despite great difficulties due to harsh climate and living conditions, soldiers have established radar installations covering a broad area from on the island, which contributes to protecting national sovereignty.
