PANO – The Vietnam football team’s coach Phan Thanh Hung officially announced a list of 22 players who will attend at a friendly match with Mozambique at the Thong Nhat Stadium in HCMC on June 23rd.

Different from the former line-up at recent matches with China and Hong Kong (China) teams, midfielder Van Quyet will not play as he has to join the U22 Vietnam team to prepare for the upcoming 2013 Asian U22 Cup qualifiers. Instead, coach Hung convene midfielders Mai Tien Thanh and Huynh Quoc Anh for this match with Mozambique.
The Vietnam Football Federation has submitted the new list to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the General Department of Sports and Physical Training. If approved, the Vietnam team will gather in HCMC on June 19th for training at the Thong Nhat Stadium.
For his part, according to Mr. Filipe Lucas Johane, General Secretary of the Mozambique Football Federation, Mozambique’s strongest players will take on the Vietnamese team. The team will leave Maputo City for Vietnam on June 19th and has 2 days training to prepare for the match.
The friendly match, aims to mark the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries, is a good chance for coach Hung’s players to improve their skills.
In the recent FIFA’s ranking list, Mozambique ranks 117th, 19 lower than Vietnam.
