The event saw the presence of Politburo member Dinh The Huynh, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communication and Education.

Hien Luong bridge over Ben Hai River served as a symbol of the border line between the north and south of Vietnam during the anti-US resistance war.

During the struggle for national liberation and reunification, the flag placed atop Hien Luong flag tower is an enduring symbol of trust and desire for national reunification by the southern people, who were always looking towards the north, the Party and beloved President Ho Chi Minh.

At the event, delegations from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City presented models of the two countries’ symbols, Khue Van Cac and Nha Rong wharf, to Quang Tri authorities.
