VGP – The central province of Quảng Nam on February 7 held a ceremony to mark the 15th re-establishing anniversary and receive the Hồ Chí Minh Medal.
State PresidentTrương Tấn Sang, Deputy PM Nguyễn Xuân Phúc, and Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Huỳnh Ngọc Sơn attended the event.
On behalf of the Party and the State, State President Trương Tấn Sang handed over the medal to Quảng Nam. He said Quảng Nam should bring into play potentials it has had to become an industrial province by 2020.
At the anniversary, the provincial People’s Committee Chairman, Lê Phước Thanh, said Quảng Nam posted an average annual GDP growth of nearly 10.6% in the 1997 – 2011 period. Its economy grew 12.2% last year, while income per capita was nearly VND22.5 million.
