Vietnamese international grandmaster, Le Quang Liem, ranked second at the Sparkassen Chess Meeting 2011 in Dortmund, Germany after recording a draw with his rival, Giri, after 38 moves at the final round on July 31st.
In other matches, Nakamura defeated Kramnik and Ponomariov tied with Meier.
With the results, Kramnik won the championship for the tenth time at the Dortmund tournament with 7 points, the runner-up was Le Quang Liem of Vietnam with 5.5 points, followed by Ponomariov, Giri, Nakamura and Meier, respectively.
After this event, the Vietnamese chess player will join the World Chess Championship from August 26th to September 21st in Russia.
