HCMC – Quang Trung Software City (QTSC) in a conference on Thursday introduced four models of international cooperation in training information and communication technology (ICT) employees for Vietnam.

The four models include giving training courses to recent ICT graduates, sending employees to Japan or South Korea, exchanging with foreign partners based on the demand of local firms and cooperating with famous universities and institutes around the world, said QTSC director Nguyen Duc Hien in the conference ‘ICT Human Resources in the Flat World’.

“Currently, QTSC is focusing on the third model through hiring skilled engineers and then sending them for further training in Japan in three to five years’ time so that they can learn from Japanese engineers. After that, they return to Vietnam and teach local engineers here, thus meeting the ICT demand of Japanese firms in Vietnam,” Hien said.

QTSC, which is based in HCMC’s District 12, has planned to open an ICT school next year, providing courses on soft and management skills and foreign languages for the ICT sector. The school will also train engineers and send them to Japan and South Korea as well as regional countries.

The school is set to train 300 engineers and send 100 abroad next year with an annual rise of 50% and 30% in numbers respectively.

QTSC will establish an international vocational college in 2016 with four ICT majors.
