VGP – The Vietnamese Government has agreed to extend the deadline for the Credit Agreement No. 442-NDF for the Central Region Transport Networks Improvement Project, to January 31, 2013.
The Ministry of Finance is assigned to complete necessary procedures for the extension of the Agreement and the Ministry of Transport is responsible for carrying out the project.
The project, funded by the Asian Development Bank, aims to (i) reduce transport costs and induce more efficient movement of passengers and goods; (ii) provide all-weather road connectivity between rural areas and district and provincial centers; and (iii) improve road safety, and (iv) establish sustainable road and bridge asset management systems for provincial road networks in 19 provinces of the Central Region.
