The signing ceremony was held on September 28 th in Hanoi.

The project to build Ninh Thuan 2 Nuclear Power Plant, the first-ever power plant of this kind in Vietnam, belongs to the Ninh Thuan Nuclear Power Master Plan with aggregate capacity of 2,000 mW.

This is a national project, which was passed by the National Assembly in 2009 and is run by EVN as the principal investment manager.

According to experts, the advanced technology to be applied in and the location to build the plant can guarantee the absolute safety and bring economic effectiveness for the operation.

Under the contract, JAPC will provide technical consultancy on the location of the plant and the investment in the project for PVN. The contract will last 18 months and cost JY 2 billion, which is aided by the Japanese Government via the Japanese Economics, Trade and Industry Agency (JETA).

EVN officials believed that the investment in nuclear power will ensure power security for Vietnam in the future.
