Program to honour golden hearts to AO victims

PANO – Representatives from a movement to support and campaign for justice for the rights of more than 3 million Vietnamese Agent Orange (AO) victims will be honoured at a program, “Honouring Golden Hearts to AO Victims”, at 08.00pm, on January 21st, 2011 at the My Dinh National Convention Centre in Hanoi.

“The upcoming program will be a great encouragement to millions of AO victims and their families as well as organizations and individuals inside and outside the country to continue their support to the victims,” said Major-General Tran Xuan Thu, Associate Professor and Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin (VAVA) at a press conference in Hanoi to introduce the event.

The VAVA has worked with it’s branches in cities and provinces nationwide to select 60 outstanding groups and individuals to be honoured at the upcoming event, which will be broadcast live on VTV and HTV channels as well as local TV channels.

The program is jointly organized by the VAVA, the Southeast Asian Research Association of Vietnam (SEARAV), the People’s Public Security Newspaper, the ASEAN magazine, and the ASEAN C&C Company.
