Nhan Dan Online – The 17th Vietnam Film Festival will take place from December 15-18 in Tuy Hoa city in the central coastal province of Phu Yen, announced the Cinematography Department at a press conference in Hanoi on August 11.
All Vietnamese film studios can send their entries for the five categories, including feature films, videos, documentaries, scientific films and animation, to the Cinematography Department, No. 147 Hoang Hoa Tham Street, Ba Dinh district, Hanoi, between November 1 and 15.
One Golden Lotus and two Silver Lotus awards, as well as two Jury Prizes, will be presented in each category.
There will also be individual awards for the best director, best scriptwriter, best cameraman, best actor and actress, best supporting actor and actress, best designer and best musician.
The festival will include outdoor film screenings and gatherings along the beach for the audience to meet and talk with their favourite artists.
The event, which is part of the National Tourism Year – Phu Yen 2011 highlighting the southern central coastal region, aims to honour the year’s outstanding cinematographic works and artists. It is also an opportunity for film makers and film studios to boost exchanges and co-operation to promote the fruitful development of Vietnamese cinematography.
