Phu Yen commends student giving back money to owner

Phu Yen commend the two students, Pham Van Phong and Le Van Thao

The Communist Youth Union Committee of Tuy An District, Phu Yen Province, and Dinh Tien Hoang Secondary School has commended student Pham Van Phong for rescuing the lives of three drowning people and Le Van Thao for returning VND 1.2 billion to its owner. Both Van Phong and Van Thao are students of 8A class of the Dinh Tien Hoang School.

In August, 2011, while getting edible seaweed and shellfish on the O Loan Lagoon in Tuy An District, Pham Van Phong heard a call for help of Nam, Quoc and Tan, the three young locals of An Cu Commune, Tuy An District because their boat had overturned. Immediately, Phong rushed to the scene and helped the three victims ashore.

Earlier, in June this year, on the way home from the field, Le Van Thao found a bag with VND 1.2 billion inside at the Phu Tan I Hamlet, An Cu Commune. Discovering that this large sum of money belonged to Mr. Nguyen Van Hien, a prawn raiser in An Hiep Commune, Thao decided to return the money to the owner.

Born into needy families, both Pham Van Phong and Le Van Thao have set very bright examples in studying results and good morality.
