NHA TRANG CITY Two photo exhibitions have opened in Nha Trang city in the central coastal province of Khanh Hoa. The two exhibitions are part of Buddhism Culture Week that kicked off this week in the city.
The seven-day event is celebrating the 1,000 anniversary of capital Ha Noi next year and the Viet Nam Buddhist Shangha s National Culture Conference. The event will hold several Buddhist cultural activities and events.
The exhibition Tay Dong Tuyet va Hoa (East and West Snow and Flower) is showcasing more than 100 photos by Venerable Thich Minh Hien of landscapes, people and religious items from predominately Buddhist countries.
The second exhibition features photographs of life from Viet Nam s three main regions from Nguyen Thinh and Ngo Thuy Hong. Entitled Xu Tram Huong Mung 1,000 Nam Thang Long-Ha Noi (The Land of Sandal Wood Welcomes the 1,000 anniversary of Thang Long-Ha Noi), the exhibition features 40 1.5m-by-3.2m photos in an open-air venue on Tran Phu Road.
Other activities at the event will include a seminar on Buddhism, national culture, preservation and the development of Viet Nam s pagoda heritage.
The Buddhism Culture Week, organised by the Viet Nam Buddhist Shangha s Cultural Department and the Khanh Hoa Buddhist Shangha s Management Department, will wrap up this Saturday. VNS
