Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong met with voters in the capital districts of Ba Dinh and Hoan Kiem yesterday to listen to their opinions and concerns ahead of the National Assembly's upcoming third session on May 21. Voters agreed that supervision needed enhancing through Q&A sessions and hearings to improve the efficiency of NA operations.

HA NOI — Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong met with voters in the capital districts of Ba Dinh and Hoan Kiem yesterday to listen to their opinions and concerns ahead of the National Assembly's upcoming third session on May 21.

Voters agreed that supervision needed enhancing through Q&A sessions and hearings to improve the efficiency of NA operations.

Many said they wanted the NA to renew its methods in keeping contact with voters while improving the quality of law making and implementation.

Talks further covered urban management, traffic safety and congestion, land use and management, the quality of tertiary and preschool education, job generation, prices, medical services, food safety and hygiene, environmental protection and the rich-poor gap.

On fighting corruption, voters praised Party and State efforts, saying the anti-corruption agency should remain independent in bringing criminals to justice.

On the same day, Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan and Ha Thi Khiet, secretary of the Party Central Committee and head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Mass Mobilisation, met with voters from Ha Nam and Ha Giang provinces. — VNS
