Paraguay President, Fernando Lugo Mendez, has praised Vietnam’s socio-economic development in recent years and expressed his desire to learn the country’s tactics to overcome difficulties to obtain such success.
During a meeting with the Vietnamese Ambassador to Paraguay, Nguyen Van Dao, Mr Mendez expressed his admiration of Vietnam’s glorious history and preeminent revolutionary leaders.
He emphasised that Vietnam and Paraguay should promote further co-operative relations in various fields, especially agriculture.
Ambassador Dao reviewed Vietnam’s significant achievements in economic growth, the improvement of people’s living conditions, and its poverty reduction policy and said he hopes that bilateral co-operation will contribute to both countries’ development.
During the two-day working session on September 16-17 in Asuncion, Paraguay’s capital, ambassador Dao and other diplomats laid a wreath at the monument to heroes and met with acting Foreign Minister, Jorge Lara Castro and several other officials. The two sides agreed that Vietnam and Paraguay have many advantages to boost trade exchanges, so they should devise suitable measures to promote a co-operative economic relationship.
