PVE will design the project and PVC will procure materials and build the power plant.
The 1,200 MW power plant will be built on 300 hectares of the Quang Trach Electricity Centre in Quang Dong commune, Quang Trach district, in the central province of Quang Binh.
Construction is scheduled to start on July 19.
The coal-fired power plant is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2015 and will add 8.4 billion kWh per year to the national grid.
