People’s Committees of central provinces and cities are asked to assign relevant local forces to enhance patrol and regular inspection of main routes, ensure 24/7 standby and co-ordinate with Vietnam Railways to improve traffic conditions at level crossings.
The traffic inspectorate should also work more closely with police forces and relevant local agencies to effectively penalize transgressors for speeding, carrying cargo or passengers that exceed regulated limits.
Additionally, the PM asked the Ministry of Public Security to direct security forces to enhance human resources and facilities to organise intensive campaigns on patrolling, inspecting and strictly punishing violators.
The Ministry of Transportation is called on to ensure safety and quality of vehicles through regular maintenance and by prohibiting unqualified vehicles from accessing the roads.
