PM to deliver speech at Asia Future Conference

VGP – Viet Nam always attaches importance to the Strategic Partnership relations with Japan, affirmed Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc at his reception for Japanese Ambassador Kunio Umeda on May 5.

During his upcoming visit to Japan, PM Phuc said he will hold talks with his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe, meet with Japanese National Diet’ leaders.

He will also attend and deliver speeches at the opening ceremony of the Asia Future Conference and the trade promotion conference in Japan, during which he will also convey strong messages on new investment environment in Viet Nam and the role of the Vietnamese Government .

Earlier in January 2017, Japanese PM Shinzo Abe expressed his hope to welcome the Vietnamese PM to visit Japan this summer and both sides have prepared for the visit.

Japan expects to invest in energy projects such as environmental-friendly coal-fired and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) fired power plants, said Japanese Ambassador.

He added Japan is willing to support Viet Nam in automobile industry with a focus on small and medium-sized enterprises. A delegation from the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry will work with some Vietnamese relevant agencies on the issue in the upcoming time.

Regarding Vietnamese PM’s request for assistance in coping with drought and climate change, the Ambassador said Japan is conducting studies to help Viet Nam build irrigation system to ensure production during dry seasons and suggested the Vietnamese Government continue improving institutions to raise the effectiveness of water resources use.
