PM calls for effective local-to-local cooperation with China

VGP – The Vietnamese Party, State and Government always attach importance to the effective and realistic cooperation with Chinese localities, including the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc made that statement at his reception for Secretary of the Party Committee of China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Peng Qing Hua on February 10 in Ha Long City in the northern province of Quang Ninh.

The PM hailed positive advancement of cooperation between Vietnamese localities and Guangxi with the two-way trade value surpassing US$25 billion in 2016, accounting for 25% of the total trade turnover between Viet Nam and China.

He urged the two sides’ localities to strengthen friendship, continue exchanges and contacts between leaders at all levels, and enhance people-to-people exchanges to effectively contribute to the Viet Nam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership.

PM Phuc also asked the two sides to ensure social order and security in the areas along their shared border while fruitfully implementing the two countries’ agreement on protecting and tapping tourism resources at Ban Gioc waterfall and another on free navigation of boats at the mouth of the Bac Luan river.

Peng Qing Hua came to Ha Long to attend the New Year meeting with counterparts of four provinces of Quang Ninh, Lang Son, Cao Bang and Ha Giang.

During the meeting, the provincial party secretaries discussed on the construction of the Viet Nam-China trans-border economic cooperation zone, he said.

Peng informed the Vietnamese PM that he has ordered Guangxi’s relevant agencies to deal with the issue of Vietnamese exports being stuck at the local border gates./.
