(CPV) – Prime Minister (PM) Nguyen Tan Dung has directed the suspension of exports of fertilizer through the end of the year; excluding NPK, supe phosphates and organic fertilizer.
The PM asked the Ministry of Industry and Trade in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to follow the fertilizer market situation at home and abroad and requested them to supervise the imports of fertilizer for timely agricultural production, especially the winter-spring harvest 2010-2011.
Earlier, on October 14th, the Ministry of Industry and Trade sent a document to the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (Petrol Vietnam) and the Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem) to speed up the production of Ure and DAP to intensify the supply for the local market and to halt the exports of the commodity.
Currently, fertilizer prices at home and abroad are increasing sharply. The volume of fertilizer in stock is very limited, especially those for common production such Ure, DAP which mainly depend on imports.
