The information was announced during a press conference o­n the program “One heart, o­ne world” to raise funds for disabled children, held by ASVHO and the Ministry of Labour, War-Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA).


The humanitarian art program which will be broadcast live o­n national television o­n April 14 has been annually held since 2004.


This year, with some 300 delegates from 43 provinces and cities, the program will call o­n assistance from the community for disadvantaged people with disabilities and orphans in rural and remote regions


In 2011, the program mobilized VND 10 billion to buy wheelchairs and bicycles for disabled people and orphans, funded surgeries and helped care for disabled people and orphans in 38 communes.


According to Mr. Nguyen Trong An, deputy head of the Department for Child Protection and Care under MOLISA, there are currently over 1.3 million disabled children across the country.
