Over 300 students from a kindergarten in the southern province of Binh Duong had to be evacuated when a fire broke out at a nearby plywood factory on Thursday morning.
Local newswire Vietnamnet quoted teachers of the Be Yeu Kindergarten in Thu Dau Mot Town as saying the accident happened when the kids were about to take a nap after lunch.
Soon after a big explosion sound was heard, the fire from a kiln at Nguyen Van Binh’s factory started licking at the school’s wall, witnesses said.
It prompted teachers to move the children to a restaurant on the other side of Le Hong Phong Street, where the school was situated, and inform parents to pick them up.
No casualties were reported, but the factory covering hundreds of square meters was burnt down, according to Vietnamnet.
The fire was extinguished at around 1 p.m.
