Outstanding young Party members honoured

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong presents certificates of merit to outstanding young Party members.

The gathering was attended by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong; Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Municipal Party Committee (HMPC) Pham Quang Nghi; and Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) members: Assistant to the Party General Secretary Ho Mau Ngoat; Deputy Secretary of the HMPC and Chairwoman of the Hanoi municipal People’s Committee Ngo Thi Doan Thanh; and CPVCC alternate, First Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee, Nguyen Dac Vinh.

In his speech presented at the gathering, General Secretary Trong praised the achievements of the young Party members, emphasising that the 100 young Party members being honoured were selected from among 1,000 nominees as exemplary role models for their enthusiasm and significant contributions to Party building work.

The Party chief urged the young Party members to continue their vanguard role in studying, working, and contributing to national construction and defence.

The gathering, which was one of the numerous activities marking the 4th CPVCC Plenum resolution on Party building; the 2012-2017 tenure National Communist Youth Union Congress, and the 142nd birthday of the great poroletarian revolutionary leader Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, also provided a good opportunity to honour these exemplary role models and encourage others to follow their lead, thereby contributing to improving the quality of grassroots Youth Unions.
