Viettel Telecom, an arm of the military-run Viettel Group, has started to receive orders for the smartphone from local buyers, according to newswire Vnexpress.
Accordingly, those who wish to own iPhone 4S just need to register at Viettel Telecom's agents and make a deposit of VND1 million per unit.
The handset will be sold via Viettel Telecom's distribution system and agents in 64 provinces and cities nationwide.
However, the first 1,000 units imported by Viettel will be prioritized to customers ordering via the Bankplus mobile services with a 10-day registration period starting December 2.
Besides, the iPhone fans can register to buy the 4S version via Viettel Telecom’s official website.
Together with Viettel, VinaPhone, an affiliate of the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group, has also said it would start distributing the first 1,000 units at the company's point of sales as from December 16.
The price of the iPhone 4S has not been disclosed by VinaPhone and Viettel yet.
However, the prices are expected to be more competitive than the same products that are offered for sale on the free market.
