* Bai Chay tourism site in the northern province of Quang Ninh received around 60,000 visitors during the Ha Long carnival and more than 13,000 hotel rooms were booked in the province.
* The number of travellers to the central coastal city of Da Nang also increased 50% - 100% over the same period last year as the city hosted the International Fireworks Competition 2011. The most attractive destinations in the city also received many visitors: over 7,000 tourists a day went to Ngu Hanh Son mountain, around 6,000 people travelled to Son Tra peninsula, and nearly 20,000 holidaymakers flocked to the beaches at My Khe and Pham Van Dong each day.
* More than 300,000 people visited the southern province of Binh Duong, most of them heading to the Dai Nam tourism site. The province has welcomed over 1.5 million visitors since the beginning of this year, a 28% increase over the same period last year. * Also in the southern region, the Nam Hai tourism site in Bac Lieu province received around 50,000 visitors and Buddhist followers over the holidays.
* Do Son beach in the northern port city of Hai Phong welcomed over 430,000 holidaymakers during the four-day holiday. The number of travellers to the province’s Cat Ba Island also increased sharply in comparison with usual weekends. Waterway transport businesses had to run extra trips to the island to meet the increased demand.
