Nhan Dan - A co-operation agreement on disseminating information in terms of science and technology was signed in Hanoi yesterday between Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper and the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST).
The agreement was signed in the presence of Party Central Committee Member and Minister of the MOST, Hoang Van Phong and Member of the Party Central Committee and Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Dinh The Huynh.
Under the agreement, the MOST will co-ordinate with Nhan Dan Newspaper in provision and dissemination of information on the policies of the Party and State regarding scientific and technological activities, improvement of the capacity of science and technology, innovation of management mechanism as well as applied research enhancement; mass movement in promoting sci-tech initiatives, etc.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Minister Hoang Van Phong expressed his thanks to the press in general and Nhan Dan Newspaper in particular for their dissemination of information on science and technology achievements over the past years. The Ministry is also responsible for providing honest and accurate information about its activities for media agencies. He said he hoped that the Newspaper would not only continue to cover the achievements on science and technology but also reflect difficulties and obstacles to be solved by the State and the Ministry to help readers better understand the role and performance of the sector in the cause of national industrialisation and modernisation.
For his part, Editor-in-Chief Dinh The Huynh said Nhan Dan newspaper always paid attention to information dissemination on the field, especially when science and technology were identified as one of the leading factors in the socio-economic development. He also expressed his hope that the information on science and technology would be vividly reflected on all publications of Nhan Dan newspaper. In addition, the Newspapers also needed more articles contributing ideas on developing and perfecting policies of the Party and State on the field.
