The new driving licence, measuring 85.6 x 53.98 x 0.76 mm, will have a yellow background with the driver’s photo printed directly o­n the licence.


Driving licences issued before July 1, 2012 remain valid, according to the MOT.


The proposed cost of applying for a new licence is VND135,000 (US$6.5).


The Directorate for Roads of Vietnam (DRVN) has been assigned to replace the current driving licences with the new o­nes to improve management.
