Nearly €1.8 mln for bio-diversity conservation

VGP – The People’s Committee of Quảng Nam and WWF Greater MeKong on August 11 launched the Protected Area Manager for CarBi project.

The €1.8 million project, totally funded by Germany, will give protection to Saola Nature Reserves in Huế and Quảng Nam, and Bach Ma National Park.

It is part of a greater project on prevention of forest destruction and degradation in the Southern Laos and Central Việt Nam, aiming to protect carbon and bio-diversity reserves. This area is about 200,000 hectares with bio-diversity of global importance.

The project will help reduce 1.8 million tons of CO2 within the next four years.
