On July 10th, upon receiving a mayday signal from a tuna fishing boat, steered by Ho Van Tay from Binh Dinh Province, in Truong Sa’s territorial waters in Khanh Hoa Province, the Command of the Navy immediately sent a rescue vessel, the VH 739, from the naval unit 129, to rescue the boat in distress.
The BĐ 95746’s engine broke down while it was catching tuna in Truong Sa on July 8th.
The boat drifted to 300 nautical miles in the Da Tay Island in Truong Sa Archipelago.
The rescue vessel, the VH 739, on July 11 th , is expected to tow the boat with 8 fishermen to a safer place.
