Nhan Dan - The Vietnamese Navy should continue to promote studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example as well as contributing to national construction and defence.
Politburo member, Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC), and Head of the CPVCC Commission for Communication and Education, Dinh The Huynh, made this statement during his delegation’s visit to the Vietnamese Navy base in the northern city of Hai Phong on February 22.
Political Commissar Vice Admiral Tran Thanh Huyen briefed the delegation on the Navy’s activities including implementing the Politburo’s resolution and the Central Military Commission’s instruction on studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example, as well as co-ordinating with 39 provinces and cities and 13 central agencies to intensify the dissemination of information about Vietnam’s sea and islands.
At the working session, Politburo member Huynh reviewed the country’s recent socio-economic situation. He also praised the navy’s achievements in implementing the Politburo’s resolution and the Central Military Commission’s instruction. The Politburo member urged the Navy to promote its tradition of heroism and continue developing into a regular, modern force contributing to protecting the country’s sovereignty over its sea and islands.
