VGP – Deputy PM Hoàng Trung Hải on March 9 chaired a meeting with the National Council on Water Resources to discuss ways to guarantee water security for the country.
The meeting reviewed the two key ongoing projects which are focusing on following the changes of water supply and the exploitation of water resources and operation of water reservoirs in the river basin.
A series of short and long-term measures was proposed to minimize negative impacts from water use and exploitation by countries lying along the shared rivers.
Addressing the meeting, Deputy PM Hải asked the National Council to seek ways to protect national water resource security while the country is struggling to cope with climate change and sea level rise.
According to Mr. Hải, the planning of water resource and water reservoirs should be put on the table for discussion./.
