PANO - The National Tourism Year 2013, themed “Red River Civilization”, will start on May 12th, 2013 at the square in front of the Hai Phong Opera House, as revealed at a working session between the Ministry of Culture-Sports and Tourism and leaders of Hai Phong City on April 13th in Hanoi.

People’s Artist Le Hung will be assigned to be a scriptwriter and the General Director of this special event.
A festive week will be held after the opening ceremony. Accordingly, various activities focusing on the culture of the Red River Delta will take place, including a photo exhibition, titled “Exploring the Red River”, a festival for amateur popular opera, a trade village festival and artistic performances of civilizations.
Various international troupes are expected to join the event.
At the working session, Hoang Tuan Anh, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that the organising panel is determined to organise this tourism year successfully. He would direct other units under the Ministry to work with Hai Phong City to organise the event. He stressed that the National Tourism Year 2013-Red River Delta-Hai Phong must be a landmark for the tourism trade in accordance with the position of Hai Phong-a city of the red flamboyant.
