Nhan Dan – Non-governmental organisations (NGOs) have provided nearly US$16 million and more than EUR 58,000 for the southern province of Dong Nai over the past five years.

These figures were announced on March 19 at a conference to review the operations of NGOs in the province from 2006 to 2011.

According to the report, 67 social welfare and charitable projects were implemented by 57 domestic and foreign NGOs, aiming to improve the living conditions of orphans, the poor, people with disabilities, and people living with HIV-AIDS in the province.

In the 2012-2015 period, Dong Nai will encourage NGOs to focus on humanitarian aid programmes, social welfare and education projects to help improve the lives of people living in difficult circumstances.
