The 8 th session of the 13 th National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee closed in Hanoi on May 5 with the adoption of a resolution on a legal policy for people credited with revolutionary service.
The resolution states that the legal policy for people who rendered services to the nation ensures equality and there is a high social consensus to help improve their living standards.
The NA Standing Committee has asked the Government to increase the allowances and subsidies for people credited with service for the revolution in line with the roadmap for readjusting salaries and other incentives.

The Committee proposed a project in 2012 to search for and collect the remains of fallen soldiers and clarify their identification. It also presented opinions on allocating VND5,500 billion in Government bonds to irrigation projects and components on the list of projects using capital sourced from Government bonds in the 2012-2015 period, as well as an increased allocation from the State budget revenue in 2011.
The Committee also adopted a resolution on budget allocations for the National Target Programme (NTP) in 2012-2015.
A project to renew and improve the quality and operational efficiency of the NA was also tabled during the session.
To prepare for the 13 th NA's third meeting scheduled for late May, NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung underlined the need to supplement the Government report on practising thrift and combating wastefulness according to the law on the issue that was promulgated in 2005.
